FMIJ in Campos dos Goytacazes is going to acquire a mini plant for cooking oil purification

The Foundation of Childhood and Youth of the Municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes (FMIJ) announced through their president Mr Mario Lopes that they will start as soon as possible a project to collect the cooking oil in the City of Campos (http://www.campos.rj.gov.br/noticia.php?id=21607).
"The objective of the project is going to be besides the generation of benefits for the environment, also generate income for the Foundation according to its president. Together with a mini purification plant and maybe the production of soap in the future, the Foundation will have a good tool to assist in the education of the students to work on a small scale with equipments of the process industry. The qualification of the youth is one of the priorities of the administration of the Municipality. " At this moment the Foundation has 1.600 children and youth signed in on their training programs.
LPM do Brasil, being based in the same city of Campos dos Goytacazes has developed free of charge for the Foundation the business plan for the project.

LPM do Brasil starts engineering of continuous plant to purify cooking oil

Lamers Project Management Ltda (http://www.lpmdobrasil.webs.com/) started in December 2009 the development of a continuous flow purification plant for cooking oil. The development will be done in colaboration with Ecoleta Ltda, in order to handle the cooking oil that is being collected through the "Viva Oleo" project (www.vivaoleo.com.br). Recently Ecoleta initiated smaller collection centers in several cities of the Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais state. They are based in the city of Resende, from which city they have easy access to these three states.

Ecoleta is working out the details with LPM do Brasil for this total new concept. The result will be a mini plant that produces on a continuous basis, and which will require very little supervision. The capacity of the mini plant will be around 10 liters of oil per minute.
This will answer the demand in the market for cooking oil purification for medium and larger purification plants.
LPM do Brasil developed this year 3 different models of mini plants for the small family based cooking oil collector (200, 400 and 1200 liters a day)and 3 different models for the market of cooperatives of collectors (2400 and 4800 liters a day).
With this new development the market of the larger beneficiary centers will be covered (4800 up to 14.400 liters per day).
This is enough capacity to keep one major soap factory in the Rio and São Paulo state going on 50 - 100% cooking oil.
From the side of Ecoleta, their process engineer Miguel Nunes da Silva Filho and Logistics Manager Leonardo Aguiar are working on the project together with the engineering team of LPM do Brasil, under coordination of Engineer Peter Lamers.
Funding of the project is being realised through the Consultancy company Felicissimo e Ramires (http://www.felicissimoeramires.webs.com/) , in colaboration with the Rio Inovation Program of FAPERJ, Foundation in the Rio de Janeiro State that supports inovative programs.

Kitchen oil purification plant at RENOVAR site has succesfull startup

The start-up of the kitchen oil purification plant at the RENOVAR site in Rio de Janeiro has been very succesfull. The training, provided by LPM do Brasil, is showing direct results as to the quality produced by the mini plant. Leonardo Aguiar, one of the directors of ECOLETA Ltda, company that introduced the project Viva Óleo in the State of Rio de Janeiro, participated in the start-up. For sure, we are witness of the fact that another level of quality of purified kitchenoil is being produced, which is new in the market. Once offered this quality to the market, soon it will become the standard quality to be achieved by everyone.

RENOVAR started introducing the new quality to the local soap manufacturers, and received imediate approval of the product. Due to the absence of particulates in the product and the very low water content of less then 0,1% the product will receive a premium. First experience of RENOVAR was that the equipment bought from LPM do Brasil (http://www.lpmdobrasil.webs.com/) improved their sales price of the purified oil considerably. Just the raise of their sales price will pay off their investment in less than six months. "Most important fact is that the new quality of the product is opening for us new markets, which could not be served before, resulting in higher prices for the product. Some 20 different cooperatives in Rio de Janeiro will deliver their oil to RENOVAR, benefitting our equipment " Rafael Borges stated on the ocasion. Rafael is coordinating the daily business of the RENOVAR project.

LPM do Brasil delivers mini plant for purification of kitchen oil to the RENOVAR project

LPM do Brasil delivered on Thursday the 12th of November a mini plant for processing of kitchen oil at the RENOVAR facilities in Rio de Janeiro. The plant,as a turn key project has been designed to process 50.000 liters per month, amount being collected by RENOVAR. The project is going to handle the oil that is coming from over 20 cooperatives in the Rio de Janeiro city. They opted after a thorough research in the market for the LPM design, and especially for the model LPM OC350B. The miniplant ran during a performance test period of two weeks satisfactorily. The oil coming from the plant is cristal clear, does not have any particulates, and also the water has been removed. The plant removes also gases and eliminates the bacterial load. This improves in particular the smell of the product, and controls future deterioration by bacterial growth.
RENOVAR is going to produce for soap manufacturers in the region.

State of Rio de Janeiro supports major project of kitchen oil collection

FAPERJ, Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro responsable for funding of research and development in the State of Rio de Janeiro, anounced on their site, and also made public during the event Rio Inovação that it will support the technical development of the collection and purification of kitchen oil.
The consultancy company Felicissimo and Ramires, beneficiary of the grant, is planning to invest the funds for the construction of 4 mini plants for purification of the oil collected. Still investigating where to locate these units in the state, it became clear that one of the first locations is going to be in the city of Resende, where the collection of kitchenoil is allready in an advanced stage, thanks to the project Viva Oleo, the work of a group of young entrepreneurs, which founded the company Ecoleta Ltda.
Other cities that are under investigation for this investment are Rio de Janeiro city, São Gonçalo/Rio Bonito, Campos dos Goytacazes and Itaperuna.
The objective of the project is to add value to the oil collected by small cooperatives or individuals by offering the possibility to bring large volumes together and purify the oil, so the final product can be offered to the soap and biodiesel industry.
